RESEARCH
RESEARCH SUB-COMMITTEE
The Research Subcommittee at VAHS is headed by Reg Thorpe, Mary Belfrage or Joanne Luke. The Research Subcommittee functions to:
- To track all research projects at VAHS.
- To consider all applications & invitations for VAHS to join research projects particularly with regard to:
- The relevance & importance of the research question(s) to VAHS and to the community
- The appropriateness of the approach/methodology including how the research will be undertaken and how the findings will be reported
- The value & cost to VAHS of being involved
- The need for the Board of Directors to consider specific projects.
- To identify research questions within VAHS and develop opportunities and partnerships to undertake research.
- To make sure research at VAHS is transparent to the community including description of projects and reporting of findings & recommendations.
- To build a greater understanding amongst VAHS staff & within the community of the role of research in improving health and health care.
