National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

 

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a national Government program for people living with a permanent and significant disability.

NDIS enables people to purchase supports  for independent living, that may include equipment, health and therapy services, help at home, personal care, and participating in the community.

The scheme provides lifelong support that enables  people to  have more choice and control over how their services.

NDIS services VAHS offers

The Victorian Aboriginal Health Service (VAHS) offers allied health services including.

  • Podiatry
  • Physiotherapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Dietetics
  • Community Nursing
  • Counselling

NDIS eligibility

VAHS has an NDIS Aboriginal Disability Liaison (ADLO) officer who can help determine if you are eligible for NDIS.

If eligible, our ADLO will advise and guide you through the application process.

If not eligible, our ADLO will work with NDIS to find you the right supports.
